Though Star Trek: Prodigy has been cancelled at Paramount+, there’s still a chance for the series at another channel.

The news of the cancellation of Star Trek: Prodigy, the animated series that didn’t focus on a Starfleet vessel and crew, was met with anger and disappointment from fans. A #saveStarTrekProdigy hashtag debuted on Twitter and began trending shortly thereafter. And viewers shared their thoughts and opinions very vocally, which should come as no surprise since Star Trek fans are a very outspoken bunch.

The creators of Prodigy, Dan and Kevin Hageman, joined in with fans on Twitter to express their thoughts on the cancellation, but they also offered a big ray of hope.

The entire statement reads:

"“#StarTrek has taught my brother and me to strive for a better future. While news of #StarTrekProdigy not returning to Paramount+ is disappointing… We have faith this show will be picked up by a new home to help grow our fervent fanbase and inspire the next generation of Star Trek fans. Our talented and passionate team of artists are working tirelessly to complete S2… And we are staying positive and hopeful that our amazing fans will get to see it soon! Janeway would never give up, so why would we? Let’s follow her orders and ‘Go Boldly.'”"

Star Trek: Prodigy is more than just another series; it’s essentially a sequel to Star Trek: Voyager.

And if you want some passionate fans, look no farther than those of Star Trek: Voyager. And many of those are saying they will rally behind the Hagemans and Prodigy as they have behind previously cancelled Star Trek series.

Series Executive Producer, Aaron Watke, took to Twitter to share how much the cast and crew love the series.

Watke wanted to emphasize the second season is in post production, and they are looking for a home to air it. Hopefully, that same channel will also pick up additional seasons of Dal and his crew!
