Fans are always on the lookout for new Star Trek content, and If you enjoy comic books and young adult romance, then you're in for a treat. A new webcomic series called Stargazers: A Star Trek Story is now available to read for free online.
Written by Jarrett Melendez, Stargazers episode 1 introduces readers to Leon, a young man on the cusp of adulthood who lives on Deep Space 9 with his parents and Alfie, their French bulldog. The other main characters include Leon's best friend, Churi, who is a Bajoran inventor and then there is Syrrik.
Syrrik, who is Leon's childhood friend, plays his rival in episode 1, but these two characters are destined to become involved in "a complicated and evolving romance," according to Stargazers' intriguing synopsis (per the WEBTOON press release).
Lyssa, a DS9 teacher, rounds out the cast for this introductory chapter, which is a fresh take on young people living on the space station. And the storytelling, artwork, and character development all lend to a compelling opening chapter.
