Star Trek Enterprise: What Might Have Been

The new CBS Star Trek show’s teaser trailer got me thinking about the last Star Trek series, Star Trek: Enterprise.
First I will start by saying that I loved Enterprise, at first. Towards the end I didn’t like the Xindi season, and the whole temporal cold war thing got a bit too much. But I have always wondered where the show would have gone, could have gone, if it was given another season to get the ratings back up.
We do know from the writers and the actors that the show, that in a similar way to The Original Series, Enterprise was in the planning phase before it was cancelled and it the storylines had been examined and constructed. Manny Coto took over at the start of season 4 and we know that he had big plans for Enterprise. Coto and the other staff behind the show have, over time, revealed much about what was planned for the next series.
