Eriq La Salle

ER was one of the first television shows we watched religiously and it was always full of highly charged emotions. We still remember many of the story lines and when Dr Greene died in season 8, we didn’t leave my room for 3 days. We think Eriq La Salle was our favourite actor in the series, playing Dr Peter Benton, the cocky young surgeon who grew as a person with the show.

Character development is extremely important in any television show that plans to stay on television for more than a season. A good director and a capable actor can create a character and a scene, but it takes a truly good actor to develop the character into someone who connects with the audience. After 171 episodes of ER, Dr Benton was a totally different person from when the show started. He was affected by the trials and tribulations that affected him as the show went on.

Eriq La Salle would make for a complex and intriguing captain.
