Kerry Condon
You might best know Kerry Condon as Octavian from the HBO series Rome, but you’ve also seen or at least heard her in the newest Avengers movie where she provided the voice for Tony Stark’s computer system F.R.I.D.A.Y. Condon also has a deep and extensive background on the stage.
On Rome, her character went from a lovestruck young woman to a cynical and somewhat bitter society player. Condon would break the mold for the usual age of Star Trek captains which could make for great drama, particularly if some of her officers were older than her and uncomfortable with her authority. Her Irish accent would also be a fun new turn in Star Trek’s tradition of diverse casting.
We obviously don’t want to make too many connections to other Star Trek series, but we don’t think Miles O’Brien ever admitted to having a sister. Perhaps the O’Brien family engineering tradition lives on and Condon’s ship could be an engineering vessel solving problems across the galaxy.
