Break The Rules Now And Then

You shouldn’t take this one lightly, but sometimes you have to break the rules. Sometimes it’s impossible to follow the rules AND do what’s best for the people you lead, in that case you shouldn’t be afraid to toss the rules out the window.

Starfleet questioned Captain Picard’s loyalty because of his time assimilated by the Borg. Starfleet was too afraid to use the enterprise against the Borg invasion. Picard on the other hand knew that if Earth was to survive he and the Enterprise had to face the Borg.

Sometimes you have to break the rules, especially when it’s a rule made out of fear or poor judgement.

To hell with our orders!
