5 reasons Trekkies need to see Star Trek Beyond

I don’t care if you call yourself a Trekkie or a Trekker, if you love The Original Series or Next Generation, if you love Star Trek you need to see Star Trek Beyond.

ICYMI: Star Trek 2017 showrunner Bryan Fuller tweeted a picture of an unfinished captains chair that is probably the seat from CBS’ new Star Trek series.

This review does not contain any spoilers about the plot of Star Trek Beyond, I do however discuss my feelings about the film. If you don’t want to see or hear anything at all about the movie you probably shouldn’t be reading this or any other review.

I just got back from seeing Star Trek Beyond, and it was everything I could have hoped and then some. I don’t want to sound like a Kelvin timeline fanboy, though I’m sure some of you are already accusing me of being just that in the comments, but that was a great Star Trek movie.

I thought Star Trek 2009 was a good movie, and I was not a fan of Star Trek Into Darkness, but Star Trek Beyond was a great movie. It might have taken a few tries for this crew, and it might have taken getting J.J. Abrams out from behind the camera, but this is some wonderful Star Trek.

I know some of you are probably still not convinced, which is why I’m going to give you five reasons Star Trek fans need to go see Star Trek Beyond.
