There’s often a feeling of competition between Star Wars and Star Trek fans, but today stars of both great science fiction franchises mourn the loss of Carrie Fisher.
We all miss General Leia, and know that her legacy will live on in the hearts of the fans whose lives she touched. Today we all need the force to be with us.
I'm deeply saddened to learn of the death of Carrie Fisher. I will miss our banterings. A wonderful talent & light has been extinguished.

William Shatner and Carrie Fisher often sparred on social media, but truly cared for each other.

Devastating indeed, may the force be with all Star Wars fans today.
I'm deeply saddened at the news of Carrie's passing. She was a dear friend, whom I greatly respected and admired. The force is dark today!

WHEN I WAS A BOY, I NEVER WANTED TO BE LUKE OR HAN, I WANTED TO BE R2D2 - BECAUSE R2D2 SUPPORTED PRINCESS LEIA IN HER FIGHT AGAINST TYRANNY pic.twitter.com/6kZXzM3Lje

We agree Marina, 2016 is a scruffy looking nerf herder.

One of the best days of my career was writing a scene for @carrieffisher in Fanboys. She was beyond kind to all us geeks in set #RIPprincess

It doesn’t matter if you love Star Trek or Star Wars more, it really doesn’t. They are both incredible pieces of science fiction that helped mold the lives and childhoods of countless people. Through Princess Leia we learned that it doesn’t matter what your title is, you can still take command of the rescue mission. The Star Wars universe just isn’t going to be the same without General Leia in it.
