Picard doesn’t really deal with the messy time travel like Kirk

We all know about the time travel episodes of Star Trek. They are messy and, if you’re a fan of Doctor Who, ruined time travel in the worst possible way. You’re not supposed to interfere with important events. The Doctor would lose his mind over Captain Kirk and his manipulation of time and fixed points in time.

But Picard doesn’t really deal with it too much. He has episodes where he does of course but it is nowhere near the level that Kirk does. And, I’m pretty sure that Picard isn’t the kind of guy who would just manipulate fixed events in history to benefit himself.

Time travel is a messy game and for a show that isn’t really about time travel, it can be hard to accept. If you take a show like Doctor Who, you know you’re getting time travel. That’s the whole point of the show. But with Star Trek, you expect adventures in space discovering new species. Not going back in time and trying to save a race of people.

But nonetheless, we know that Picard isn’t really the kind of captain do change things or go back in time unless it was absolutely necessary for his team.
