30 Reasons Why Captain Picard is Better than Captain Kirk

Kirk frequently changed time to suit his ends. Picard didn’t.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard would not dare change time to fit his means. Simple as that. Again, it is dangerous to changed fix points just to benefit yourself. Doctor Who screams this at us but I guess Captain Kirk only likes ‘classical’ music and not classic television programs that teach us of the dangers of messing with time.

Here is the thing: I am aware that these are two different shows but the same principal remains. You don’t go messing with time because then there is a ripple effect. If you take away one death because it is someone you love, then it causes a whole slew of events to not happen because that person didn’t die.

You’d think Kirk would know this and not alter time. Since, you know, altering time is an extremely bad thing to do. And so, it is why, Captain Jean-Luc Picard would never dare touch time to fit his means. He is smarter than that. Or maybe it is about selfishness versus selflessness. Because Kirk is definitely a little bit selfish.

No matter the reasoning, Captain Picard wouldn’t alter time for his benefit and that makes him a better captain overall because changing time is a really bad thing.
