Picard wouldn’t have dropped the charges against Khan

Captain Kirk spent an entire movie trying to defeat Khan. In fact, he did it in two different universes. And he dropped the charges against him in the end. Honestly, that is just stupid. Why would you spend all this time stopping someone to just basically letting them go? What does that do? Absolutely nothing is what that does but here we are, and so it makes Captain Picard a better captain because he would not have dropped those charges against Kirk’s biggest nemesis.

Again, his biggest nemesis. And he dropped the charges. Just wanted to point out again how dumb that is. Was that his way of showing he is a person who can forgive? Does someone need to remind Kirk that Khan killed people? That Khan is the reason his best friend had died? Or did Kirk forget everything?

Whatever the case may be, Picard never would have sentenced him in the first place without making sure he was right in doing so and then, once sentenced, he never would have dropped the charges. He is a diplomat through and through and Khan is a direct threat to diplomacy.

Honestly, I can’t believe that Kirk did that and it baffles me.
