We may not get a Star Trek 4

We are excited about the idea of Star Trek 4. James and George Kirk coming together in a time traveling yarn that might put a bow on the entire Kelvin universe sounds great. It might even be a wonderful chance to bring back William Shatner to play an older Kirk one last time… maybe giving him a more fitting departure from Star Trek than being caught under a fallen bridge.

It sounds like we may or may not get that wonderful fourth Kelvin timeline film though. Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the Kelvin timeline films, had this to say about the possibility of Star Trek 4 on The Today Show.

"“I know that they are working on a script for another one and we’ll see how that all plays out, but the nice thing about that experience is that the time in between those big tent-pole films allows us to go off and cultivate a lot of different creative experiences for ourselves… I’m hopeful that we’ll do another one, but there’s no guarantee.”"

So Quinto sounds optimistic, but not overly optimistic. With all the drama in the world of Star Trek surrounding Star Trek: Discovery we guess it was only fair that the Star Trek films got in on the action as well.
