Who better to tell your friends and family about your upcoming baby than Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

There are many ways to tell the world that you’re having a child. Social media is awash in pictures of Prego jars and open oven doors with hamburger buns in them. One Star Trek fan however has decided to go in a different direction and created a pregnancy announcement fit for the 24th century.

Jean-Luc Picard wasn’t a family man himself, but that doesn’t mean he’s not happy to help you tell the world that you will soon be a father. Data is also in the announcement though, and Data was certianly a father… even if it was once of the saddest Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes ever.

Now this is how you do a Trekkie baby announcement!

Let’s not forget the best Star Trek parenting moment of all time though…

And of course the absolute worst Star Trek parenting moment of all time…

Although Janeway and Paris’ salamander babies were pretty bad too.

Well at least this baby announcement isn’t for salamander warp babies. Let this be a warning to you just in case you were planning on going warp 10 with your kids in the shuttle.

It’s so much fun seeing a Star Trek baby announcement. Perhaps this will inspire others to get creative with their social media announcements.
