Star Trek has always played with time travel and timelines. Star Trek: First Contact took the timeline mix-ups to a new level though when the crew of the Enterprise went back in time to help Zephram Cochran make his historic warp flight. It was of course that warp flight that drew the attention of the Vulcans and launched humanity into the stars.
What if Star Trek: First Contact reset the traditional Star Trek Prime timeline though. We are used to there being two Trek timelines. The first is the Prime timeline which includes Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise and the movies with those crews. The second is the Kelvin timeline which includes Star Trek 2009, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond.
What if Star Trek: First Contact actually started a third timeline though? What if the interference of the crew of the Enterprise changed the future in its own way? That’s what our buddy Ketwolski is trying to get the bottom of in this video.
If you liked that maybe you’d enjoy forging your own new Star Trek future in our Star Trek: First Contact game. In the game you take the helm as Zephram Cochran and you get to decide where the future of humanity will be going with your first warp flight.
