Star Trek: Discovery released a behind the scenes trailer for season 2 which hints at getting reacquainted with some familiar characters
It’s been a big week for news about upcoming Star Trek projects. Hot on the heels of Paramount announcing two new upcoming Star Trek movies, yesterday CBS released a behind the scenes trailer from the production of season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery which just recently started filming. You can check out the trailer here.
The trailer features behind the scenes shots of the sets of Discovery being built, makeup being applied, and uniforms being sewn. All the while we hear some familiar voices speaking over the images. While the scenes are playing out, dialogue from both Discovery and TOS are heard. Of course, Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham is featured prominently.

In addition to that, the one minute trailer has some other familiar voices and images. Along with Burnham, we also hear Captain Pike from The Cage and Spock from both Space Seed and The Immunity Syndrome.
If they needed to make it more obvious that we’re going to be getting reacquainted with familiar characters, the trailer also features images of sketches of a female character wearing a redesigned TOS era uniform and an unseen man wearing a yellow uniform.
Though his face is obstructed in the trailer, the man wearing the yellow uniform is in all likelihood Anson Mount, who was announced as the actor who will be playing Captain Christopher Pike in season 2 of Discovery.
