There have been a lot of rumors but little in the way of details in terms of his Trek movie. He’s said in previous interviews that he could be interested in making a standalone movie based on the events of TNG’s “Yesterday’s Enterprise.”

That episode obviously didn’t feature any of the TOS crew. This could mean that Tarantino’s project is much different than his earlier idea. This could also mean that Quinto merely misspoke based on a lack of information. And nobody from the Kelvin universe Enterprise has anything to do with the upcoming project and that nobody has had the heart to tell Zachary Quinto yet.
