A new trailer for Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 has arrived

CBS has released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of Star Trek: Discovery and if you look closely, you can see a young Spock smile.
When the first season of Star Trek: Discovery arrived on the new streaming platform CBS All Access, the new show in the long-running franchise had its fair share of doubters. Almost from the moment the first episode was released the questions came fast and furious.
How exactly did it fit in with the rest of the original continuity? What do you mean Spock has a half- sister? Since when? What is up with those Klingons? Will we see the original Enterprise?
By the time the first season wrapped, it’s safe to say Discovery had won over the majority of the Trekkers who watched. And CBS seemed incredibly happy with the reaction, so much so they signed showrunner Alex Kurtzman to a five-year deal to expand the Star Trek television universe even further.
Now fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the second season of Discovery. The first trailer dropped at this past summer’s San Diego Comic-Con International and reintroduced the one and only Captain Pike to the series.
The two and a half minute trailer got fans talking and pretty excited for what was coming up in Season 2. It included a promise that Discovery will soon synch up with the rest of Star Trek canon and that lingering questions from Season 1 will be answered.
This past week CBS released a new trailer for Season 2 that included another look at Ethan Peck as the legendary Spock. While only 30 seconds long, it nonetheless hits all the right buttons for Trekkers everywhere. And almost shows Spock… smiling.

CBS is betting big on Star Trek with a new Picard focused series in the works as well as Short Treks and a brand new animated series. With so much on the line, you can be sure they are pulling out all the stops to make Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 a worthy addition to the franchise that will impress new and old fans alike.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 arrives on CBS All Access on January 17, 2019.
