CBS releases a new Star Trek: Discovery promo video

CBS has released a new video titled “What to Expect in Season 2” that includes new scenes, comments from the cast and a look behind the scenes.

And the Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 hype machine continues to roll on.

Yesterday saw the release of a new poster, synopsis and trailer for the forthcoming second season of Star Trek: Discovery. None disappointed and, most importantly the trailer greatly clarified what fans can expect going into Season 2. Which is namely big action, bigger spectacle and lots of character development.

What’s that? You haven’t seen it yet? Well lets fix that right now, shall we?

Pretty freakin’ awesome, wouldn’t you say?

Now a day later CBS All Access has released a new promo video titled “What to Expect in Season 2.” The 90-second video includes a behind the scenes look at the making of Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 as well as comments from stars Sonequa Martin-Green (Commander Michael Burnham) and Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike), in addition to executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin and Olatunde Osunsanmi.

One thing Kurtzman seems intent on letting fans know is that despite the producers upping the ante on almost every aspect of the show, this is still the Star Trek we all know and love. Above all else is the characters and how they grow and develop over the course of Season 2.

And, if I could just geek out for a quick moment, how incredibly cool does the Enterprise look? Yes, Discovery is a sharp looking starship but the Enterprise just blew me away. Not even the 2009 reboot version of the beloved vessel looked that awesome.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 arrives on CBS All Access in the United States and on Netflix pretty much everywhere else on January 17, 2019.
