With Star Trek: Picard set to give us our first canonical look into the galaxy post Nemesis and Voyager and complaints about prequels feeling played out how can Star Trek move forward with a revitalized feeling while maintaining its core principles?
I’m looking forward to Star Trek: Picard, but with it set to be a ‘more contemplative’ series with a starkly different tone then Star Trek: Discovery is it time to move forward in another direction? That is the question I find myself asking myself today.
There are all sorts of way for the franchise to move forward, either through more parallel timelines, different realities, prequels, sequels, different settings or another entry in the main series.
