Tom Holland as Ensign Wesley Crusher

Star Trek The Next Generation’s resident wiz kid intended to bring in the younger audience by giving them a relatable character in actor Will Wheaton in the prime timeline and in many ways Gene Roddenberry’s attempt to insert a younger idealized version of himself into the series was not well received by fans. While in later years the generation of viewers who were of a similar age to Wesley has come to show a respect for the character and often times a love of the actor at the time the most popular thing he could do on the series was to be told to shut up.

Attempting in a similar vein but with superior results to cast this, hopefully better written character, we chose actor Tom Holland, the current Spider-man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take up this role. Tom is an accomplished actor at age twenty-two he is believable in the role of the youngest member of the crew of the Enterprise.

While his schedule may be full with his other commitments Tom would be an outstanding addition to the Enterprise crew.

Honourable Mention: Noah Jupe

Noah Jupe, best known for his recent roles in A quiet place, Wonder and Holmes & Watson.

Noah would be another fine actor to portray the role of Wesley Crusher. He has the demonstrated ability to play a deep and complex character as demonstrated in his fantastic performance in Wonder (2017) where he played Jack Will, best friend to the main character who was born with a birth defect which gave him an unusual physical appearance, In this role Noah went from potential enemy, to best friend, to confused youth and even into a physical altercation, all of which he managed with apparent ease.
