Beyond Friendship and beyond Family, that’s where you find the connection between Jean-Luc Picard and Guinan. Though the mysterious relationship between the long lived El-Aurian bartender and her follicly challenged rescuer turned Captain is never fully explained the chemistry between the award winning duo is undeniable.

Goldberg effortlessly manages to play a character who we know to be centuries old with a graceful wisdom that many would fail to bring to life, as such she matches Stewart’s abilities in a way that just feels right.

We know they met first during the 19th century and that she apparently waited hundreds of years just to join his crew as a bartender who listens and provides occasional advice when he needs it. It’s an incredible commitment on her part when you look at it in those terms, so how could she not want to continue their friendship through the next stage of his life?

Add to that Goldberg’s recently expressed interest in returning to Star Trek, and you have as close to a sure thing as we’re going to get. No doubt many fans would be excited to see her return to the show.
