After leading her crew back from the Delta Quadrant during Star Trek Voyager Captain Janeway was promoted quickly to the rank of Admiral, and as we learned in 2002’s Star Trek Nemesis her area of operations includes some contact with or responsibility for the area of space around Romulus.

Given the information we’ve already received discussing how Star Trek Picard will feature a Jean-Luc Picard in some way suffering from or dealing with the after effects of the dissolution of the Romulan Star Empire following the destruction of Romulus as seen in Star Trek (2009) , it would seem highly likely that Picard would have some sort of contact with the Admiral who had a responsibly for Romulus at some point over the course of the series.

No doubt fans would be thrilled to get a glimpse into what’s happening with another one of their favourite former Captains and having the two former Star Trek Captain’s show the potential friendship they’ve developed working together in the years following their respective series and in the aftermath of an event like the Romulan supernova would be a great way to bring another fan favourite character back, even if it was just for a brief appearance.
