Science officer turned Captain, turned Ambassador Spock has the distinction of being the character to appear in the most iterations of the Star Trek Universe, played so far by three actors (not counting flashback appearances by younger versions of the character), the late Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto and most recently Ethan Peck.

Following his first appearance in The Cage, the original pilot starring Captain Pike, Spock continued with the USS Enterprise’s next five-year mission under the command of Captain James T. Kirk and beyond into the Star Trek movie franchise for the first six movies featuring the Original crew and The Animated Series.

Leonard Nimoy would later reprise his role during The Next Generation two-part episode Unification in which he was attempting to bring peace and unity between Vulcan and their long lost brothers the Romulans.  This theme of working closely with the Romulans would continue with his next appearance in the first two Kelvin Timeline movies Star Trek and Into Darkness.  Through the use of archive footage, Leonard Nimoy also appeared alongside much of the original crew during the Deep Space Nine episode Trials and Tribble-ations.

Despite Nimoy appearing in Star Trek (2009) as his original character, the role was also recast with Zachary Quinto donning the pointy ears where he would co-star in all three of the Kelvin Timeline movies alongside the newly cast crew.

Currently, Ethan Peck is playing the role of Spock in the second Season of Discovery.
