On this week’s Friday Night Fights, it’s time to get spooky as we talk about what alien threat is more menacing, the Vidiians or the Borg?

What’s scarier, a space zombie or an organ harvester? That’s the question on today’s Friday Nights Fights. What’s scarier, the Vidiians or the Borg? Both alien races strike fear into the heart of Star Fleet but for vastly different reasons, both have run afoul with the starship Voyager and both hare horrifying to encounter but for vastly different reasons.

The Vidiians are a race of beings suffering from the Phage, a disease that eats away at the flesh and destroys their organs. To combat this, the race has taken to organ harvesting alien races that are compatible with their DNA. This has lead to them becoming fared across the galaxy for their destructive and violent surgeries. Made worse is the fact that physically the race looks like rotted and decaying corpses, more monster than person. The shock of the look, on top of their barbaric practices merely to extend their lives another day makes them a very horrifying race to run afoul with.

Enter the Brog, however. A race of mechanical zombies that spread their species by taking innocent beings and assimilating them into the hive mind of their race. A force of nature almost, the Borg is unrelenting and nearly unkillable. Emotionless, relentless, and undaunted by anyone. A race of being so devoid of life and free-will that they personify the idea of being dead. Trapped in an existence for eternity that will never let you leave.

So which alien race would be more horrifying, the intergalactic organ harvesters or the interplanetary space zombies? Let me know on Twitter!
