Star Trek: Picard gave Will Riker and Deanna Troi fans a long awaited reunion.

The love for Commander Will Riker and his wife, Deanna Troi, remains as strong as it was the day Star Trek: Nemesis aired. Fans could not have been happier when Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis returned to their roles in season one of Star Trek: Picard. Even five months after the episode aired, they’re still talking about it and about the future of their beloved couple.

While Jonathan Frakes told TrekMovie back in June that he hopes to suit up again as the commander, at present, there isn’t a solid plan to have Riker and Troi return to the CBS All Access series. But that’s not the only thing fans would love to see as one posed this question on Twitter.

"Question for you and @Marina_Sirtis: since fan support got @CBSAllAccessto greenlight a Pike series, would you guys be open to a Riker/Troi series if fans demanded it? I think we can all agree that your episode was the best part of #Picard"

Many viewers said the episode that included Troi and Riker was the best of the Picard series. While certainly some fans will disagree with that, Imzadi fans have been holding out hope for years just for a glimpse of their favorite couple. Now, that Picard his his series and Captain Pike is about to get his, perhaps CBS All Access will consider a series with Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes, if the two actors were open.

In the meantime, bring on more Riker and Troi for season 2 of Star Trek: Picard. For some, it felt like a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode they’d been waiting for, and Frakes and Sirtis slipped right back into their former roles as though they hadn’t been gone 18 years. It certainly makes sense that the producers of Star Trek: Picard would want to bring back the couple as, undoubtedly, ratings will rise.
