We’ve seen a lot of Vulcans over the years as we’ve watched Star Trek. We’ve heard about their time on their home planet and have even seen it portrayed on various series and films. But what we haven’t really seen are the lives of the children who challenge the system and join Starfleet instead of the Vulcan Science Academy or choose different paths than their parents would choose for them.

It’s difficult to imagine Sarek as a father, but an animated series would give fans a glimpse into the secret world of a Vulcan home life. How did the parents interact with their children? Was there love as we know it? Or did logic prevail at all times?

While the series could choose to focus on the childhood of one Vulcan, it would be far more interesting to see more children which would give us better insight into the lives these children led before they become adults. And new kids with new futures ahead of them could be introduced, allowing viewers to follow the paths of Vulcans not necessarily meant for Starfleet.

Paramount has so many possibilities within its grasp, and hopefully, they will choose a series (or two) for the future that can be enjoyed by all fans. To do that, they would have to focus less on the humor Lower Decks tries to incorporate and more on what makes us love the series. Give us the action, the adventure, the characterization, and the lessons we can glean from each episode. That’s the Star Trek we know and love.
