Unsurprisingly, Star Trek is a popular subject on Twitter, and, of course, Captain James T. Kirk always gets some attention
Captain James T. Kirk, whether portrayed by William Shatner or Chris Pine, is a hot topic on Twitter. Fans share memories from the series and movies, show how Star Trek relates to their lives and how much the franchise is still very much a big part of those lives. This week, we’ll take a look at some of the best Star Trek tweets using the hashtag #captainkirk and #kirk.
To start off, we get this wonderful reminder of a smart decision by Time Magazine when it put the two captains of the Enterprise on its cover way back in 1994. It could have happened sooner, and we wouldn’t have minded it if Captain Kirk had been by himself, but that’s only a small quibble.

The Woodland Elf shared this poignant quote from Admiral Kirk from Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan. The hashtag was still #captainkirk so this one counts even though Kirk was an admiral at the time.

Mary shared a few pictures from Riverside, Iowa, the birthplace of Captain James. T. Kirk. Clearly the town embraces its link to the legendary captain, although they refer to their city as Kirk’s future birthplace. We see what you did there, Riverside.
This optimistic meme shared by @nighteaglehawk is a large dose of hopefulness to spouses everywhere. You have to admire the creativity of the meme creator.
