Robert Duncan McNeil and Garrett Wang, the hosts of the Delta Flyer’s Podcast, created a fun Star Trek: Voyager Christmas episode on the fly for fans.

Christmas is over, but most people consider the time between Christmas and New Year’s Eve as part of the holidays. So in that spirit of extended-celebration, we’re going to cover one more Christmas-y thing here at Redshirts Always Die, and that’s the Delta Flyer’s Christmas episode. For those who don’t know, Robert Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang are hosts of the series that focus on recapping Star Trek: Voyager episodes. McNeill and Wang were several of the main actors in the series as well, playing Tom Paris and Henry Kim respectively. They review one episode per week and retell stories about behind the scenes shenanigans. It’s a great glimpse into the inner workings of Star Trek at its apex.

Last Thursday, on the 24th of December, the podcast released a Christmas episode, which diehard fans would be confused by, as Voyager didn’t have a dedicated Christmas episode. The hosts agreed with this premise and instead of recapping an older episode, created a brand new one. On the fly, using key prompts to guide the story. It was a Christmas themed episode that featured a llama making lieutenant, Captain Janeway, and Chakotay having intimate rumors made about them and a way home.

It fits nicely in the timeline of the series, which is nearing the end of the second season of Voyager episodes, without changing the course of anything. It’s a nice filler episode that will tickle fans who like this sort of thing.

The series will return to its usual format of reviewing classic Voyager episodes next week, but if you’re looking for something fun to listen to, this is the podcast episode to dive in on. It gives you an idea of who McNeill (Paris) and Wong (Kim) are outside of their famous roles.

The sequel to Star Trek: Nemesis sounded amazing. dark. Next
