Star Trek: Voyager’s Kate Mulgrew will narrate the Captain Janeway autobiography, an in-universe book that recants the history of the famed captain.

Before Kate Mulgrew returns as Kathryn Janeway for the animated Nickelodeon show Star Trek: Prodigy, she’ll return to the Star Trek universe to narrate her own adventures. Well, more precisely, the adventures of her iconic character; Captain Kathryn Janeway.

Mulgrew was obviously tapped to do the audio recording for the in-universe autobiography for Janeway, a book that will detail the life of the famed Starfleet captain and admiral, while also giving more context to her time in the academy.

The character, made famous on Star Trek: Voyager, is getting a lot of fan support for her eventual return to the franchise, with some fans hoping for a Picard-like series featuring Mulgrew as Janway.

Until then, fans can listen to her narrate, The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway: The History of the Captain Who Went Further Than Any Had Before. The book was written by Una McCormack and published by Titan Books.

The book is already available for purchase, but the audiobook doesn’t go on sale until Jan 26, 2021.

To get fans enticed for the audio-version, Star Trek’s official website released a preview of the book, with Mulgrew reading a passage of Janeway’s time at Starfleet Academy.
