Waiting for news on The Orville’s third season is difficult for us fans who have been beyond ready for the season to begin, especially since season two aired its last episode on April 25, 2019. But we got a little bit of a boost yesterday when The 100’s Eliza Taylor shared a rather interesting image of herself covered in green goo with the caption “”Come play on The Orville” he said, “It will be FUN” he said… #TheOrville #Season3.” She tagged The Orville’s creator and star, Seth MacFarlane in the post which solidifies her announcement. Obviously, Taylor will be playing an alien in her guest-starring role. I think the green stuff clued me in.

Unfortunately, we don’t know if this is a one-off appearance for Taylor, whose own series came to an end in September, but we do know that the image of her in the make-up chair means things are moving forward with season three after hitting another snag in production back in January.  Though MacFarlane hasn’t mentioned anything on his social media about the progress of the series since he retweeted the news that filming had resumed in December, he did share information on the release of The Orville’s wonderful soundtrack last month.

According to CBR.com, the series will tentatively begin filming again in the latter half of this year, which means the odds of seeing season three in 2021 just grew a whole lot slimmer, but while it’s difficult being patient when you’re excited about a series, usually, long waits are worth it. And I won’t be at all surprised if season three completely blows seasons one and two out of the water.

What do you think? Do you think season three will be even better than the first two seasons?

Next. The Orville to send their show’s flag into outer space this fall. dark
