New York Times Bestselling Authors David Mack, James Swallow, and Dayton Ward have combined their decidedly impressive talents in an upcoming Star Trek novel trilogy, the first of which, Moments Asunder, written by Dayton Ward will release on September 28th. That novel will be followed on October 12th by Ashes of Tomorrow written by James Swallow, and the final novel in the trilogy, Oblivion’s Gate written by David Mack, will release on November 30th.

David Mack, who is the bestselling author of over 36 sci-fi, fantasy ,and adventures novels, as well as the consultant to Star Trek: Lower Decks & Star Trek: Prodigy, shared the news February 20th on his Twitter page.

James Swallow, who has written over 35 books, including for Star Trek and Dr. Who, provided a little more information on his website, including “You can rest assured that Dayton, Dave and myself will be talking a great deal about Star Trek: Coda in the coming months – but for now, we’re sworn to secrecy about the contents of the trilogy…”

That’s right; the authors have revealed nothing about the plots of the books, and it doesn’t look like any additional information will be forthcoming until much closer to the first book’s release.

Dayton Ward, who has written dozens of Star Trek novels, took to his Facebook page to share a little more information than either Mack or Swallow had, but it was mostly about how the books came together. He solidified Swallow’s stance on the plot with a firm, “You can ask all the questions you want, but I’m not answering jack so far as plot details, hints about plot details, wish lists, hopes and dreams about what you want to see…..nuthin’.”

All we know besides the books’ release dates is that the trilogy will “push forward the ongoing 24th century Trek novel continuity.”  That’s not much to go on, and September seems a really long way away, doesn’t it?
