Previously, we shared that Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher of Star Trek: The Next Generation) would be the host of a new podcast, but we didn’t have much more information than that. Now, Deadline has reported that the title of McFadden’s podcast is Who Do You Think You Are? and we have a few more details about what to expect from the podcast, including the initial amount of episodes to be expected.

Official Description

Actress and choreographer Gates McFadden, who has worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Muppets Take Manhattan, hosts this light-hearted and intimate sit-down conversational series featuring close friends and former co-stars reminiscing on careers, personal life and Star Trek.

McFadden has already interviewed six of the main cast from TNG, including Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Wil Wheaton, LeVar Burton. So Patrick Stewart could be on the way. And with the plethora of guest stars from TNG, including John de Lancie, Suzie Plakson, and Mae Jemison, if that’s the route she chooses to go (which fans certainly hope so), there are certainly enough interviews to keep her busy for a long time.

Although there’s no indication that McFadden’s podcast won’t expand beyond the Star Trek universe, Brian Volk-Weiss, who is the founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company, calls himself “a huge Trekkie” so this could just be the beginning of Star Trek-related content.

"As the name of my company suggests, I’m obviously a huge Trekkie. To be working with Gates McFadden on a project like this is a great honor."

The Nacelle Company, which is behind Netflix’s Down To Earth with Zac Efron and Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us, has recently concluded construction on its Burbank studio where McFadden’s podcast will be produced. They have four additional podcasts lined up to be released, including Secret Histories of Nerd Mysteries which will cover, you guessed it, nerd topics.

There’s no anticipated release date yet for any of the podcasts, although, McFadden’s was originally scheduled to launch last fall with a ten episode run.
