After Marina Sirtis was asked to reprise her role as Counselor Deanna Troi on Star Trek: Picard, she flew to Hollywood to begin filming her scenes only to discover that the wardrobe department wasn’t quite ready for her…as in, they didn’t have the wig or the contact lenses she wore for her role. A hair change could have been explained, but a different eye color? That would have been a bit questionable.

Fortunately, after the filming of Star Trek: Nemesis, Sirtis had taken the wig she wore on the movie as well as the contact lenses she wore home with her, and she offered them up to the wardrobe department, telling them that she thought she had them.

"Do you know what? I think I stole them so I think I have them. So let’s just get the contact lenses cleaned because they’ve been sitting in a lens case for 15 years, and I have the wig."

Sirtis said it was fortunate that she had pilfered the wig and contact lenses as there wouldn’t have been time to make a $10,000 wig for her to wear on the series. In addition, she was doing a play in England before she was scheduled for filming in Star Trek: Picard. She finished the play on Saturday and was at the studio lot on Monday, having flown from England on Sunday so she didn’t have a whole lot of time.

The actress, who is celebrating her birthday today, said she’s “a bit of tea leaf as they say in England,” which means thief. Sirtis’ five-fingered discount certainly came in handy for the wardrobe department of Star Trek: Picard.
