Star Trek: Deep Space Nine has been described as something of an underdog in the Star Trek world. It was set aboard a stationary space station so travel for the main characters was often limited. There weren’t always epic battles like you could find aboard the Enterprise, and it relied a lot on character-driven episodes that took deep dives into their pasts as well as their futures. To some, those poignant episodes are reasons enough why Deep Space Nine is their favorite of the Star Trek series.

If there is ever any doubt as to the power of this series or why you should give it a shot if you haven’t tried watching it already, then you need to see this modern trailer created by Space Nerd Entertainment back in December. It’s a true masterpiece that highlights the imaginative premise of the show as well as the fight for survival, the friendships, and the love that existed on the station.

Captain Benjamin Sisko provides most of the voiceover, part of which is his “it’s easy to be a saint in paradise” speech from the season two episode The Maquis, Part II which will give Trekkies goosebumps. One surprising voiceover includes Gul Dukat, but it fits so perfectly to amp up the tension of the series.

There is so much to be said about this trailer, but this is one of those you have to see to believe it. Space Nerd Entertainment did a fabulous job, and it’s no wonder viewers are asking for trailers for other Star Trek series. This truly is a work of art.
