Q is here to kill off Picard

Yet, what if Q is here to actually kill off Picard and escort him to the next “great adventure”? The idea that Q is here to test Jean-Luc Picard and humanity one last time, not to determine if we as a species are worthy but to see if Picard is worthy. Worthy of becoming a member of the Q Continuum. That would be a heck of a story to tell, with Picard wrestling with the notion of such a request and challenge.

It would be an idea that would serve specifically to usher Picard and Patrick Stewart off for good; a final goodbye to one of the franchise’s most impressive legends.

From a previous article we posted;

"Unlike other characters who can/could/will return to the universe of Star Trek, de Lancie’s Q is the only character that brings with him the cosmic weight to be a series ender."

While many think this could change the course of Star Trek, by including the Kelvin cast in future episodes and the like, it feels more likely to some of us that the return of Q really brings with it a sense of finality. A chance for fans and the like to say goodbye to Stewart and Picard while we can, and to give both the actor and character the perfect sendoff.

Q may be here to change history or explore time but it’s far more likely that Q is here to usher Picard off to the next grand adventure.
