The return of John de Lancie to the world of Star Trek began in earnest with his cameo on Lower Decks. This got a lot of people hoping that de Lancie would return to the live-action side of things with another turn as Q for one of Star Trek’s newer live-action shows. Of course, there’s Discovery but if de Lancie was going to reprise a live-action version of Q, everyone hoped it’d be for Star Trek: Picard; so he could bother his long-time nemesis, Jean-Luc.

The lingering concern that all fans seem to have is that some of the essences of Q will be washed away by the newer Star Trek’s grittier portrayals of the universe. Like, would Q still be the fun, annoying, creature that he is? Well, de Lancie himself wants to reassure you; yes, Q will still annoy Picard.

This bit of information came from a Cameo video that he made for a fan named Stacy where he addressed his status with the show and what he intends on doing while he’s Q;

"Uou are going to be seeing more of me. I am on Picard. I guess they really needed someone to come in and really annoy the shit out of Picard and that is exactly what I have been doing for the last month. I’ve been making his life very unpleasant. I’m really proud of that."

In a separate video later on, he said similar things to a fan named Kyle;

"You might not know this but Q is back and I have been spending the last month really annoying Picard in the new show Picard."

This is a great way to get lapsed fans who are still interested in seeing actors like de Lancie, back into Star Trek by way of Picard.

If you’re interested in getting de Lancie to do a recording for you, his Cameo rate is $150 per vieo.
