Who doesn’t love LeVar Burton? Well, Canadian superstar and film-A-lister, Ryan Reynolds does. Then again, so does most of the free world. Burton is a wonderful person, who spent his prime years as a man helping young children learn to read. He’s as much an educator as he is an entertainer. His years on Star Trek: The Next Generation only served to help that image.

Recently, Burton has seen a growing group of fans push for him to take over the hosting duties of the hit game show Jeopardy! after the passing of Alex Trebek. Recently it’s been announced that the fan support has essentially gotten him a guest-hosting opportunity alongside a few others with many hoping that it turns into a full-time thing.

Enter Reynolds, who’s aware of the fan support Burton has and wants to bring Burton onboard to as many properties as possible (allegedly), starting first with a gin company.

In the video, you see Reynolds introduce Burton for Aviation Gin, a brand many probably haven’t heard of before. In the video, Reynolds throws the duties of promoting the alcohol to Burton, who’s sitting poolside, dressed like a James Bond movie villain; and pulling it off.

In the advert, Burton shows off his smooth ability to deliver lines in a way that is both informative and intoxicating all at the same time. Burton then throws a raised eyebrow as if he were Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, just for effect. After it ends, with nothing but the gin logo present on screen, Reynolds does a voice-over declaring Burton a “national treasure” and that he’s too good for us. Of course, Burton is there with him and the two begin to bicker a bit.

It’s good to see Burton getting some love, as his star hasn’t shown as bright over the last few years, and it’s good to see that he’s getting a second go-around in the spotlight.
