Star Trek: Discovery could get Jason Issac back but on one condition.

Fans of Star Trek: Discovery were undoubtedly happy to see Jason Isaac on the first season of the show as Gabriel Lorca. A seemingly happy, if not gruff captain of the U.S.S. Discovery. Of course, things weren’t what they appeared to be and Lorca was anything but a good man. Lorca ended up being from the Mirror Universe, and the Lorca from that universe was missing.

It was a heck of a plotline and a heck of a lingering plot thread. So with Mirror-Lorca defeated, the real Lorca is still out there somewhere. This means that Isaac could return to the show as the other Lorca.

This is something Isaac is open to, on one condition;  the script has to be good. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Isaac was very clear on his desire to be impactful with anything he does.

"It’s always in script. There’s no part I’m interested in, there’s no people, no matter how much I admire them and I’m into them, it’s always the script. It’s always, what story am I telling? I wouldn’t ever want to go milk something just to please the fans or my bank manager. I try and find something that has something in it that will make me entertained. There’s all kinds of fab things that happen between cuts and action, being in lovely locations, or getting paid well, or being with friends, but at some point it’s between action and cut that you have to focus on and I want to have something to do.I don’t want to just be in things because other people want to see them. I want to be able to play something. So, in all the things you’ve mentioned, I felt like I had something great to play. And, for instance, there’s a clamor often for me to go back to Star Trek. Had a fantastic time on Star Trek, I loved all the people, I love being part of that universe, and Prime Lorca, the Prime Universe version of my captain, has yet to be found. But I wouldn’t go back just to be in it, I’d go back if you had a great story to tell."

A perfect situation is developing on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

This sounds like a story that could be flushed out and focused on during the events of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. That show stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, who did a turn as the captain of the U.S.S. Discovery after Mirror-Lorca’s defeat.

The two men would be interesting forces, especially as we find out more and more about Prime-Lorca and all the things that he actually represents. Could he be in conflict with Mount? Maybe he’s even worse than Mirror-Lorca? There’s so much potential there and if it only takes a good script, then dang it, make a good script to get him back.
