Keeping secrets from Connor Trinneer in Atlantis

Like his Enterprise co-star and on-screen romantic partner Jolene Blalock, Connor Trinneer crossed over to the sprawling Stargate universe,

He appeared in ten episodes of Stargate: Atlantis between 2006 and 2008 as Michael Kenmore, aka Lastlight.

Lastlight was originally a warrior-scientists of the Wraiths—the telepathic, life force-sucking vampires in the Pegasus Galaxy. The SGA team transformed him into a human and gave him his human name, but initially kept knowledge of his Wraith life from him.

As science fiction fans might expect, that decision didn’t end well!

Ultimately, Michael began a crusade to conquer the Pegasus Galaxy using Wraith-human hybrids like himself. As genre fans might also expect, this effort didn’t end well, either—at least, not for Michael Kenmore.

A decade later, Trinneer returned to the Stargate fold as a different character. In the web miniseries Stargate Origins, he played Professor Paul Langford, who discovered the Stargate in Egypt in 1928—the portal featured in the original 1994 movie and in Stargate SG-1.

Not unlike Indiana Jones, Professor Langford must keep a mysterious archaeological discovery of unbelievable power out of the hands of the Nazis. (We hate those guys.) Unlike Indy, Langford also has alien baddies to contend with.

Moving from a Star Trek prequel series to a Stargate prequel series gives Connor Trinneer’s career a certain kind of symmetry!
