Picking “the best” Star Trek show is hard but Daily Stream thinks it’s Deep Space Nine.

Fans will debate all over the place which Star Trek series is the best one ever. Some say the original from the 60s, others say The Next Generation, while others still yet debate Deep Space Nine or Voyager. Whether it’s the animated series of Enterprise or even Nu-Trek, everyone will have their opinion on which series is the best. Enter The Daily Stream.

The Daily Stream’s Danielle Ryan has thrown out her pick for the best series; Deep Space Nine.  Her reason is sound (it’s actually a lot of reasons, go read it for yourself) citing the acting talent and character depth.

"Since the characters are what makes Deep Space Nine sing, the actors have to really be at the top of their game. This cast is spectacular, and you can really feel the love they have for their characters and one another."

There is no “best” Star Trek, just one’s favorite

Frankly, trying trying to pick the best Star Trek is impossible. There is no such thing. There are ones that we may make our favorite but that doesn’t make it inherently better than another. Especially looking at those four series from the 80s to the 00s, they were loaded with stellar acting talent.

Most of the shows also feature compelling, open-ended questions that have no distinct right or wrong answer. Serving more as a mirror to one’s own mortality. Do you split Tuvix to save Neelix and Tuvok (the needs of the many and such) or do you keep Tuvix because he’s his own being? There is no right answer because someone(s) will die regardless.

(Note: There is a right answer; split Tuvix).

So sure, Deep Space Nine could be the best if that’s the one you think is the best. Voyager could be the best or The Next Generation. It really all depends on what it is you’re looking for. Very few of the series are actually bad, though there are some that are just not Star Trek.

Which ones? We’ll leave that for you to debate on your own.
