24-year-old Uriah Shelton began his acting career at a young age, guest-starring in Without a Trace at the age of ten. He has continued acting since then, with one of his main roles being Jeff Cargill, the teenage son of Callie Cargill, on the A&E TV series, The Glades. He played the role from 2010-2013, appearing in 26 episodes. He followed that up with guest-starring roles in Girl Meets World, 13 Reasons Why, and, most recently a starring role in the Hulu series Looking for Alaska.

Though most of his roles have been that of teenagers, Uriah is an accomplished actor whose abilities far exceed his opportunities. In addition, he’s extremely active and proficient in Tae Kwon Do. In fact, he became the 2006 ATA Tae Kwon Do California State Champion, skills he could use as Kirk if a fight scene were to arise. (And one would be surprised to have Kirk show up on SNW or any Star Trek show and not have a fight scene, right?)

As an adult playing an adult, Uriah would bring something new to an all-new version of Kirk. And having seen him act, I believe it’s a role he could pull off without any problem.
