Now is your chance to own an interactive Tribble from Star Trek.

Do you like Tribbles? It’s a rather silly question but it’s also a valid one. If you’re a longtime fan of Star Trek and are familiar with the race that breeds so hard that both adult film stars and hamsters are put to shame, then you know what they’re all about.

They’re small, furry and until now, completely fictional. That changes thanks to the good people at the Science Division who created, get this, app-enabled Tribbles.

The website for the Science Division describes exactly what these creatures are.

"These app-enabled Star Trek™ pets are the softest, most lifelike Tribble ever made. They respond to touch with screen-accurate sounds and gentle coos and vibrations. They even trill on their own–just like real Tribbles."

There are three types of Tribbles you can buy, a brown Tribble ($69), a same-sized silver Tribble ($74), and an extra-large Tribble ($120).

The Tribbles are among the sillier things of Star Trek that has endured

For some reason, whenever Tribbles are involved, it usually becomes an endearing moment for fans. “The Trouble With Tribbles” episode remains one of the more enjoyable episodes of the original show. It was one of the benchmark episodes that showcased just how good Star Trek could be. It was among the highlights of the second season and has remained such a constant that it’s still beloved 50 years later.

It was so good that the showrunners of Deep Space Nine thought it’d be a good idea to recapture that magic and go back to that very same episode for their Deep Space Nine/Original Series crossover episode, “Trials and Tribble-ations”

Like with the original, the crossover became one of DS9’s most beloved episodes and helped cement the beloved creature’s place in Star Trek lore.
