The Star Trek documentary,  Center Seat, gets its first trailer.

The Center Seat is going to be a documentary on the History Channel about the complete 55-year history of Star Trek. The Nacelle Company released some information that states the documentary will cover each chapter of Star Trek history in a given episode. It’s unsure if they’re going to cover the five distinct eras (the original series, the revival film, the golden age, the film revival, and Nu Trek) or if they’re going to be even more immersive by focusing on individual series and films.

The documentary will feature Brent Spiner (The Next Generation) Nana Visitor (Deep Space Nine) Dominic Keating (Enterprise), Tim Russ (Voyager), Penny Johnson-Jerald (Deep Space Nine/The Orville), Kate Mulgrew (Voyager), Walter Koening (The Original Series), Robert Picardo (Voyager), Robert Beltran (Voyager), Roxann Dawson (Voyager), Anthony Montgomery (Enterprise), Cirroc Lofton (Deep Space Nine), Kristie Alley (Wrath of Khan), Denise Crosby (The Next Generation), Wil Wheaton (The Next Generation), F. Murray Abraham (Insurrection)

Production crew like David Gerrold (writer multiple series), Harold Livingston (The Motion Picture), Ronald D. Moore (writer on multiple series), Brannon Braga (writer and producer), Robert Sallin (Wrath of Khan producer), Nicholas Meyer (Wrath of Khan director).

It’s possible more are in the documentary but weren’t shown for one reason or another.

The documentary sure seems like it won’t just talk about the best parts of Star Trek, as Alley has always been a controversial actress in the show’s franchise and has always been one person that fans either loved or hated. So to see her in the documentary should make for some interesting television.

The Center Seat series is directed by the same man who did The Movies That Made Us and the Toys That Made Us documentaries on Netflix, Brian Volk-Weiss. The showrunner is Ian Roumain and Gates McFadden, Cisco Henson Mark Altman and Ben Frost are serving as executive producers for the series, alongside Roumain.

There is no set air date so far for the series.
