This is part one of the 15 episodes of Star Trek to watch for Halloween.

Halloween is right around the corner and that means we’re looking at the scariest, spookiest, and nerve-rattling episodes of Star Trek that have ever been created. It needs to be stated now because apparently everyone needs to have the same opinions on the internet, that this is not an official list.

This is my list. These are my 15 most terror-inducing episodes of Star Trek. Your opinion on my opinion is moot. If you want a list of the same episodes, that fall under this topic, they’re out there. You can indulge and enjoy them at your leisure.

For me, these are the episodes that lingered the most and for reasons, you may not have thought of.

Honorable Mention: “Night Terrors” – Star Trek: The Next Generation

This isn’t a great episode of the show, and it certainly won’t be too many people’s favorite, but it has one of the most iconic moments in not just Star Trek history but in any horror show or film ever made.

In the morgue, Dr. Beverly Crusher finds herself surrounded by dead bodies on slabs, covered in just plastic clothes. As Crusher walks the room she starts to hallucinate that the bodies are no longer static. With her back turned to them, the bodies sit up unbeknownst to Crusher. Making it one of the most horrifying visuals ever seen in film or TV. Granted, it’s been done elsewhere and maybe even better but when you’re nine years old watching this scene, you’re guaranteed to make your carpet damp.

The episode still isn’t great, despite this one scene.
