Star Trek: Picard and Discovery both took home some Saturn Awards on Tuesday.

Star Trek took some awards at the Saturn Awards this week. For those new to the Saturn Awards, they are an annual award event that highlights the best in superhero, fantasy, science fiction, and horror. So it was the perfect award event to see how Star Trek’s Picard and Discovery were going to do.

Star Trek was nominated for seven awards total, four for Picard and three for Discovery, and all three in the television section of the awards.

Discovery won the Best Science Fiction Television Series category, with Lost in Space, Doctor Who, Pandora, Westworld, Pandora, and sibling-show Picard being nominees for the category as well.

Picard took home the next award for Best Actor on a Television Series, as he reprised his role as Jean-Luc Picard for Picard. Stewart beat out Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher,
Mike Colter as David Acosta on Evil, Grant Gustin as Barry Allen ( The Flash) on The Flash,
Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman on Better Call Saul, Jonathan Majors as Atticus  Freeman on Lovecraft Country, and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser on Outlander.

The last award Star Trek won was Doug Jones winning best Supporting Actor on a Television Series for his work on Discovery as Saru. Jones edged out Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan aka S.T.R.I.P.E. on Stargirl, Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield on Outlander, Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut and Tony Dalton as Lalo Salamanca on Better Call Saul, as well as Michael Emerson as Dr. Leland Townsend on Evil.

Star Trek fell short in four other categories at the Saturn Awards

Star Trek didn’t win all the awards, as Picard and Discovery each lost a combined four other categories.

Sonequa Martin-Green lost out on Best Actress in a Television Series to Outlander star Caitriona Balfe for her turn as Claire Fraser. Supergirls’ Melissa Benoist, Watchmen’s Regina King, Westworld’s Thandi Newsome, The Flash’s Candice Patton, and Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul were runners up as well.

In Best Performance by a Young Actor and Best Guest Performance, both Isa Briones and Jeri Ryan lost their respective categories, with Brec Bassinger as Stargirl winning Best Performance by a Young Actor and Jon Cryer winning Best Guest Performance as Lex Luthor.
