Behind the scenes

This category involves the behind-the-scenes stuff that fans don’t know about in Star Trek. Meet and greets, conventions, books detailing actors’ time on the show, and of course documentaries.

Mission Chicago

The first big fan convention is happening on April 8, 2022 thanks in part to ReedPop. Reed Pop is the official Star Trek convention licensee, and their first event running the show comes in Chicago on April 8, with a four-day event. They’re working hand in hand with ViacomCBS and you can better believe that many of Star Trek’s biggest stars will be there. So far only Kate Mulgrew, Michelle Hurd, Wil Wheaton, Anthony Rapp, Nana Visitor, and Doug Jones are announced so far.

To The Journey: Looking Back at Star Trek: Voyager

To The Journey is a look back at the cast and crew’s time on Star Trek: Voyager. The film was crowd-funded and will be produced much like the Deep Space Nine documentary, What We Leave Behind. The entire cast, except for Jennifer Lien is expected to be a part of the project.

A Woman’s Trek

Hero Collector is releasing a new book in 2022 written by Deep Space Nine actress Nana Visitor. Her book will document her time on the set of the show that made her an icon in Star Trek. She’s also doing a bunch of interviews with the hope of turning them into a documentary, potentially being made by the same team who’s doing the Voyager documentary To the Journey.
