SurveyMonkey polled 579 Star Trek fans to find out what show they prefer the most
By Chad Porto
Star Trek fans told SurveyMonkey what television series they most prefer.
Star Trek fans will never agree on anything it’s sort of the thing that defines the franchise. It’s the “original MCU” in the fact that it had six shows and two film franchises that directly overlapped with one another for nearly three decades. It was doing crossovers before it became the in-thing to do at the end of the credits.
So if you asked nearly 600 fans to rank their favorite Star Trek series, you’re going to find yourself with pretty original lists across the board. Very rarely will two Trek fans have the same list. That’s probably the reason why SurveyMonkey decided to survey 579 fans about their preferred shows to watch.
Now, this is a fairly informal list, as there are vastly more than 500+ Star Trek fans and many newer fans may have different opinions. It should also be noted that Star Trek’s The Animated Series and Short Treks were not included in this list. It’s not clear if it was a tiered list, where every show was ranked or if only the number-one favorite show, was ranked.
So with that in mind, this is SurveyMonkey’s findings;
- The Original Series – 34.2%
- The Next Generation – 19.52%
- Deep Space Nine – 11.23%
- Enterprise – 10.71%
- Voyager – 8.12%
- Discovery -7.43%,
- Picard – 4.15%
- Prodigy 3.45%
- Lower Decks – 1.21%,
(.02% margin of error)
SurveyMonkey’s list is both shocking and not
I’m not surprised to see The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine in the Top 3, but I am surprised to see The Original Series on top of them. I would’ve expected TNG/DS9/TOS as numbers 1-3. That was not the case here.
It was also interesting to see Enterprise at number four, which is a series that is certainly on the rise.
While the newer shows were predictably at the bottom, it was surprising to see Discovery as the top Nu Trek show, and even more surprising to see Prodigy is already topping out Lower Decks; despite Prodigy being weeks old.
What do you think, do you agree with the findings of SurveyMonkey?
