Watch: 10 ideas for a Star Trek anthology series chosen by fans
Star Trek has plenty of stories to cull from previous series.
Recently, Akiva Goldsman, the creator of Star Trek: Picard, mentioned the idea of a Star Trek anthology series that would bring back classic characters from the series to show fans where they were in life. Needless to say, fans jumped on board the idea, even though it is just an idea. There has been nothing confirmed about such an anthology series, but that doesn’t stop fans from speculating what and who should be included in these one-hour stories.
The Youtube Channel, WDIM Sci-Fi Movie and Series Breakdowns, shared a video of some suggestions from viewers that should be included if an anthology series ever comes to fruition, and some would certainly be worthy of screen time.
It’s not surprising to see Enterprise included in the list of hoped-for Star Trek anthology episodes.
Most Trekkies can agree that Enterprise got cancelled way too soon. It should have been given the opportunity to play out its seven seasons like the other series did. Granted, ratings weren’t as high as the studio would have liked, but season four had started to change things around, and given a chance, this series could have been as popular as the others.
One commenter wanted to see the Earth Romulan War that would have taken place during the Enterprise’s time while another wanted to see corrections made to the problems created by the Temporal War. Still another wanted to see Trip’s death righted on screen instead of just between the pages of a book.
Another suggestion that practically ever Trekkie can get behind is the Rise of the Borg. Most of us have always wanted to know how the collective came to be. Were they created by some other alien species? Was it a mishap that brought them to life? This is something that definitely needs to come to the screen.
There are several more really good ideas in the video, and maybe, if more fans star talking about this potential series, it will actually happen. It’s definitely needed.
