Warning: This post contains spoilers from Star Trek: Picard season three, episode three.

The third episode of Star Trek: Picard, “Assimilation”  picked up where episode two had left off, with Admiral Picard and his crew facing down the fascist magistrate and his team. In a few quick minutes, the Confederation team was dispatched, and Picard and crew were racing toward the sun to travel back in time to 2024.

But one crew member had been mortally wounded. Elnor, the first Romulan cadet in Starfleet history, lay dying on a bio bed in the La Sirena’s sick bay. Sadly, the wound was just too extreme, and Elnor succumbed to his injuries, leaving Raffi heartbroken, but with a good question for Dr. Jurati. If the timeline is fixed, will Elnor be alive when they return to their own time?

Is Elnor really gone for good on Star Trek: Picard?

That’s a question Evan Evagora couldn’t answer when he was asked by Decider. The actor called it a really good question before hedging his response.

"“Uh… that’s a really good question I don’t know if I’m allowed to answer it,. I know Elnor appears again, I just can’t say in what capacity or how. But, I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say that, but I did, so there we go!”"

Appearing could mean anything from a flashback scene, a dream that Raffi has, or even in a daydream where one of the crew hopes for a better future when they return from Los Angeles 2024. There is one thing that can be said for Elnor’s death, and that is it has motivated Raffi to the extent that she’s willing to do anything to fix the timeline and get back to their own century. She’s desperate to see if Elnor will still be alive in her own time, but she’s also angry. And being driven by fury, she’s going to get things done.

As for Elnor, we’ll just have to wait to see if he comes back to the series when the La Sirena and its crew makes its way back to the 25th century.

Next. And that’s a wrap on Star Trek: Picard for season three and the series. dark
