We’re celebrating the birthday of Star Trek: Enterprises’ Connor Trinneer, aka Star Trek: Enterprise’s Trip Tucker!
No, you’re not seeing double, we did one of these earlier in the day, but there’s so much good Charles “Trip” Tucker goodness to spread around, we needed a sequel to help celebrate Connor Trinneer’s birthday.
The first list had some really good ones, go check it out, but a special shoutout to “Dawn”, which isn’t too dissimilar from The Next Generation’s Darmok and The Next Generation’s The Enemy; both stories of an alien and a federation officer having to work together to survive, but I feel that Dawn did it the best of the bunch.
But we’re not here to focus on the same three episodes, as there are so many to choose from. So we’re looking at another three great Trip Tucker episodes to watch on Connor Trinneer’s birthday.
Three Trip Tucker episodes to watch on Connor Trinneer’s birthday.
Season 1, Episode 25 – Two Days and Two Nights
We’re taking a trip to Risa for what feels like the annual trip of a Starfleet vessel to the pleasure planet. Man, the crew of Voyager must hate literally every other ship. In this outing to Risa, Captain Jonathan Archer falls in love with a cat-lady, Phlox can’t even get his needed 48 hours, and our good boy Trip Tucker and his best buddy Malcolm Reed end up getting robbed and tied up by two beauties. Trip has a lot to learn about the ways of seduction apparently.
Season 2, Episode 11 – Precious Cargo
Speaking of seduction, Trip is usually the man for the job, so when an alien vessel requests help in keeping an alien princess in hibernation while they return her to her homeworld, Trip helps out. Turns out though that she’s not in hibernation to be returned, but is in hibernation to make it easier for her to be sold off. This episode also features the Trek debut of iconic Indian model and actress Padma Lakshmi. Their chemistry is undeniable and it’s a must-watch.
Season 2, Episode 26 – The Expanse
One of the lesser-explored aspects of Trip prior to this episode was his relationship with his little sister. When the Xindi attack Earth, Trip’s sister is killed and Trinneer has to balance his grief with his responsibilities as an officer. It’s not a Trip-focused episode but it’s one of Trinneer’s finest acting performances in the entire series and was a key turning point in the series as a whole.
